A research project devoted to understanding Islamic teachings related to economics and their economic implications.
Vision
At theoretical and philosophical level, the project endeavors to explore and explain the teachings of Islam and the Islamic worldview. It will strive to understand the expected and actual impact of Islamic teachings and worldview on the values, preferences and behavior of an individual and the effect of these on the socioeconomic relations.
At the applied level, the project aims to research on institutions which are consistent with Islamic principles and teachings in order to see their economic potential to fulfill the contemporary needs of modern societies and economies.
At the analytical level, the project strives to objectively and (to the extent possible) empirically appraise the institutions – both contemporary and theoretical – with regards to their economic effects in modern societies and economies.
Islamic Economics Project (SMC-Private) Limited is incorporated in Pakistan under Section 16 of the Companies Ordinance 2017.

I am Islamic Banking and Applied Finance since 1982. Perhaps one of the pioneering on the subject and profession. With active banking to teaching and training, I travel for almost 37 years. After gaining considerable experience of 37 years with achievements in the specialized field of Islamic Banking and Applied Finance and enjoy the status of a professional banker, teacher and a trainer, now I am using my knowledge and experience in the promotion and development of Islamic Economics, Islamic Finance and Islamic Banking in a realistic manner. I have a firm belief that it is an urgent need of today’s the Muslim community, its relationship in the perspective of Muslim nations and the non-Muslim world.

Indeed it is an interesting effort that will serve the purpose to create awareness for the base of banking, finance and investment in Islamic guidance. I am in this field since 1982 and entered into the profession after acquiring academic achievement. Being the student of Dr Ahmed Al Najjar, the founder of Islamic Banking system and one of the key figures of Islamic economic system. His first day speech to the class room was on Islamic economics and he stated that who ever understood the basics of Islamic economics, he can be expert in Islamic Banking. Unfortunately, we stress on Islamic Banking, Takaful or Finance but we do not realize the information, law, guidance, perimeters and rules are defined in Islamic Economics that indicates that socio-economics is the solution of all economic crises and perform the role of factors of production, which are Man, Money and Commodity. These are the real tools for efficient commercial activities that lead the nations in the development of their economic stability. I am keen to read and contribute to this forum in my humble manner and to seek the guidance of all those who participate in this noble cause. I appreciate the initiator of this page.
