About

A research project devoted to understanding Islamic teachings related to economics and their economic implications.

Vision

At theoretical and philosophical level, the project endeavors to explore and explain the teachings of Islam and the Islamic worldview. It will strive to understand the expected and actual impact of Islamic teachings and worldview on the values, preferences and behavior of an individual and the effect of these on the socioeconomic relations.

At the applied level, the project aims to research on institutions which are consistent with Islamic principles and teachings in order to see their economic potential to fulfill the contemporary needs of modern societies and economies.

At the analytical level, the project strives to objectively and (to the extent possible) empirically appraise the institutions – both contemporary and theoretical – with regards to their economic effects in modern societies and economies.

Islamic Economics Project (SMC-Private) Limited is incorporated in Pakistan under Section 16 of the Companies Ordinance 2017.

Dear brother Salman, be asured that you are not alone in the effort to promote Islmic ideals. Therefore success prayers are needed TO & FROM. I have been following your articles for quite some time & have been motivated & inspired by your writings. Thus, am currently focusing on the factors responsible for the slow pace of education & economic development among Muslim Ummah generally with particular reference to Northern Nigeria and then attempting Islamic theories and concepts to proffer solutions. If you have the time and interest, I would send you a draft copy for your critique.

    Dear Managers oF IEP

I’m a researcher on bringing solutions for economies in the World. I’m a Muslim Researcher. I already have found the solution for the biggest part of the problem. One of the major problems Muslims have is that they don’t have the resources to provide 100% usury free finance. But, they depend on foreign investors or banks which causes them to go by the terms of the investors and forcing them to manipulate Islamic finance to make it to suite the conventional banking system’s loans.

    • That’s not always the case . A few Muslim countries have enough liquidity but still apply usury to their economies,

    • It is obvious that our system has to be in line with Economic System of Islam. This falls short of that. Mufti(s) should be careful. They have already handed over Global Islamic Economy to West. Solution is Ijma’a.
