Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam

The lectures given by Allama Iqbal even after one century are as fresh and illuminating as ever. They show the tremendous depth and breadth of his knowledge, vision and also his commitment and passion for religion and its progressive application at the personal level and societal level in Muslim polity. Amidst the height of passion and devotion, Allama Iqbal still highlights important factors of stagnation which need to be avoided. He urges Ijtihad, Ijma and reconstruction of thoughts to foster change while retaining the eternal principles of religion.

Miracles, Law of Nature, and Quran

If we delve deeper to find distinction between the laws of nature and miracles, then actually there is only one difference. The events in natural law happen regularly and the events in miracles happen sometimes. There is not much difference in the actual reality of the events in both of them, but there is a difference in the number of occurrences.

Image of Black Hole and What It Tells About Nature of Reality

For the first time, astronomers have captured an image of the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, known as Sagittarius A. Is it necessary to believe in something only after we are able to physically observe it? Scientists like Prof. Stephen Hawking have accepted the fact that black holes exist even though this kind of a physical observation is possible only now. We, as humans cannot see an object which is just a mile away. Science had shown the vastness of observable universe. It will take trillions of years to get to the end of observable universe and we may still not get there as it is expanding at a faster rate.
